Experiencing Sacred Space: An Evening with David Pereyra

Wednesday, May 30, 2018

7:00pm – 9:30pm

Join us on May 30 for a fascinating evening with David Pereyra.  David holds degrees in architecture and visual arts from the University of Buenos Aires, and in theology from the University of St. Michael’s College in Toronto.  He writes, “My area of expertise is the trans-disciplinary study and comparison of architecture, ritual, phenomenological, and theological aspects in sacred space. Since 1985, my academic focus has been the interaction of worship with sacred space, in order to strengthen the dialogue between contemporary life, culture, rites, and Christian worship.”  David is also part of the team at the Inclusive Design Research Centre at OCAD University with a focus on making sacred spaces accessible.

David chose St. Andrew’s to be the focus of a program he did on CBC’s Tapestry entitled, “Sacred by design: experience a church through the eyes of a priest-turned-architect” .
