The indefatigable God rested. The first humans rested before they even worked a day.
God instituted and commanded rest for Israel. Jesus would often shield himself and his disciples from the terror of endless work, assumed indispensability and usher them into rest.
But what does it mean to rest, and what are the uses of rest and perhaps even the misuses of rest?
In coming away this weekend, we will explore various dimensions of what God hopes for us in rest as clergy and lay people and how we can follow God’s own example in this much-needed work.
So, come away.
Join us for our 2018 Day Away at Crieff Hills Retreat Centre near Puslinch, Ontario. This will be a day of rest and renewal, facilitated by the Rev. Dr. Esther Acolatse, Associate Professor of Pastoral Theology and Intercultural Studies, Knox College, Toronto. Children, teens and youth are welcome!
Ticket prices include lunch and snacks, and transportation by bus to Crieff Hills if required. No charge for children and youth (to age 18). Our chartered bus will leave St. Andrew’s at 8:00 a.m. SHARP.
